Blue Winds and Waves

Eating Out

There are many good places to eat in Cowes, just remember to book ahead when in high season and weekends.

Here are just a sample of the many in Cowes.

Restaurants

The Coast https://thecoastbar.co.uk/

I love it here! If I could eat there every day I would. It has a great variety of food for meat eaters, vegans and even my kids can find something there from wood fired pizza to mussels and chips. They do an amazing hot chocolate and lovely cocktails so it’s a one stop shop for everyone.
I eat here every time I am down and I would certainly make this your ‘special’ evening meal place as the atmosphere is great and the food is some of the best around. I would book here as it gets very busy, although you can still walk past and usually get a place (usually later in the evening).

The Harbour Kitchen https://www.theharbourkitchen.co.uk/

They do great burgers and milkshakes and also there is always something for my vegan friend to eat when I meet with friends. The sweet potato fries and home made cakes are again fantastic.

Bahar Tandoori https://www.bahartandoori.uk/

This is an Indian which is a landmark restaurant of Cowes. They don’t have a license though so grab a bottle from Sainsburys or M&S to take with you. They don’t charge corkage. I would also advise booking here.

North House https://northhousecowes.co.uk/eatdrink

North House is more fancy than Coasts and has lots of meat, more of an up market restaurant feel.

Number 3 http://number3cowes.com/

I’ve heard good things about Number 3, although I have yet to go.

Smoking Lobster  https://www.smokinglobster.co.uk/

The Smoking Lobster in Cowes has rave reviews and is very hard to get a table so book far in advance.
There is another restaurant in Ventnor, which was the first Smoking Lobster, and is easier to get a table I hear.

Murray’s https://www.murrays.co/

For seafood there is Murray’s. Again I can’t comment but I hear it’s good

Coffee shops

Marsele’s is new in the high street and do fantastic baguettes and cakes. Get there early for the baguettes though as they do tend to run out.

Bbut if they do French Franks also have great baguettes and coffee although limited for sweet tooth people, they do have tasty milkshakes though! Watch the opening hours though as French Franks shut shortly after lunch hours.

Tiffins do fantastic baguettes and coffee with home made cakes. I highly recommend the BLT at Tiffins and their milkshakes are heavenly.
